Controil is a manufacturer of components for hydraulic brakes and polymers operating in OE and the aftermarket. It is part of Fras-le group and completes 65 years of operation in the market with prospects of business expansion in the coming years.  The company has received investments in its plant, located in São Leopoldo - Brazil, to implement modern and efficient automation systems in operations that enable gains in production processes and agility in the development of new products, as well as ensuring their quality and compliance with the international standards for the industry. 

With significant market share, as a leader in master cylinder and servo brake, Controil is highlighted as a brand that the mechanic trusts and the one that has more availability in the sales channel, as per the latest edition of “Marcas da Oficina” survey; conducted by CINAU – Central Automotive Intelligence of the Oficina Brasil Group.  Hemerson de Souza, Director of Controil, since 2018, says that robust investments have been made in the brake plant that have increased production capacity, placing state-of-the-art equipment in the production line with strict quality standards in all processes, including testing in CTR Innovation Lab, most complete research center, development and testing grounds in Latin America.

Another innovation is the current digital catalog autoexperts.parts that allows customers to have the product application information always in real time, including, in Brazil, the identification by the vehicle’s plate. "From the introduction of the ABS brake, the master cylinder has undergone an important technical evolution, having a much more complex design, just as the wheel and clutch cylinders have had modifications in terms of technology and Controil has been following all these innovations in the products," explains Marcos Afonso Crema Lovatto, Controil Unit Manager.

Highlights of the Company's history:

1957 – Indústria Metalúrgica Ltda is founded to manufacture brake repair kits.

1989 - Start of production of wheel cylinders for trucks.

2000 - Start of production of clutch cylinders, servo brakes and injected hoses. 

2004 - Begins commercialization to automakers, implementation of technology center and receives ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001/2000 certifications.

2012 - Acquired by Fras-le group of Randon Companies.

2018 - Investments with the implementation of new equipment and process automation in manufacturing.

2022 – Celebrates its 65 Years Anniversary.
