About Controil

Controil is a Fras-le company belonging to the Randon group, is located in the city of São Leopoldo in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Founded in 1957, the company produces components for hydraulic brake systems such as master cylinders, wheel and clutch cylinders, vacuum boosters and various repair kits. The company is also specialized in the production of polymer solutions for the automotive market, with emphasis on air filter hoses, items where it is an original manufacturer for automakers. The product line also has radiator coolants and brake liquids.

With a portfolio of more than 800 items, it serves national and international markets, exporting to countries in South America, Central, Europe and Asia. The company has ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications and has modern machines and qualified engineering, which makes it add the best of technology, ensuring the quality of its products. It also uses the entire structure of the CTR (Randon Technological Center) to complement the final validation of its developments, in addition to its own test laboratory.

Our history

Our history

1950s

In 1957 the company Metalúrgica Industrial Ltda is founded. Start of production of automotive repairs and rubbers for brakes and industry in general.

1960s

In 1965 changeg the name to Freios Controil Ltda.

1970s

In 1978 the company started the production of rubbers for refrigeration.

1980s

In 1989 began the production of wheel cylinders for trucks and there is a move to the current head located in the Vicentina neighborhood of São Leopoldo.

1990s

Since the 1990s, there has been an exponential growth in the company in the face of several initiatives, such as: beginning of the production of automotive rubbers; diaphragms; wheel cylinders for cars and master cylinders for brakes. There is also the implementation of the Total Quality Program, the acquisition of iron foundry and the receivement of ISO 9002 and OS 9000 certifications.

2000s

In the 2000s investments continued and the production of clutch cylinders began; vacuum boosters and air hoses. Between 2004 and 2006, the company began marketing to automakers and implements the technology center that assigns its ISO TS 16949 and ISO 9001:2000 certifications.

2010s

In 2010 there was the construction of the new expedition and in 2012, Freios Controil is acquired by Fras-le S.A. and becomes part of the Randon Companies. In 2017, the company expands its product portfolio by offering the radiator coolants line to the market. Since 2018, the company's expansion plans have been strengthened through the acquisition of new automated machining cells with robot movement.

Since 1954, the beginning of its trajectory, Fras-le is always prioritizing technological developments. The company is proud to offer products that are constantly evolving to meet the needs of the global automotive market. Fras-le is a member of Randon Companies and due to its international expansion trajectory has acquired the following companies: Lonaflex, Controil, Fremax, Armetal, Farloc, Fanacif, Jurid do Brasil, ASK Fras-le Friction and Nakata.
